Gateway Science Academy Elementary held its annual Art Fair on Monday, April 22nd in St. Louis. Each child chose at least one of his or her favorite pieces of artwork to display this year. There were three full display boards and additional art on the gym walls. Two tables were covered with 3D work, and a slideshow featured photos of student art from GSA’s Artsonia page.
Guests could enjoy snacks while they listened to student violin and piano performances at the start of the show. ”Student art teachers” demonstrated techniques at six interactive art-making booths. Guests could create paintings or drawings to take home at each grade level’s table. A station for artist feedback was set up so parents, family, and friends could write notes to their favorite artists. The GSA Art Show was busy from open at 3:30 until close at 8, and the level of family participation was astounding. [nggallery id=11].
